A Licence - DAS

Rider Training North West provides excellent CBT Training for candidates in Southport, Ormskirk, Formby, Leyland, Liverpool, Preston, Merseyside, Lancashire and throughout the North West.

For people aged 24 years or older. Once you have passed the test you will have a full bike licence to ride any cc or size of bike.

You can also do this test if you are 21 years+ and have held an A2 licence for 2 years. You must complete CBT, a motorcycle theory test and take your practical tests on a large motorcycle. If you already have an A1 or A2 licence you will not need to do a second motorcycle theory test or CBT.
  •     3-day A licence course (Experienced Riders)
  •     4-day A licence course (Semi Experienced Riders)
  •     5-day A licence course (Novice Riders)
This training is usually done on one of our big bikes (600cc plus) motorcycles. We have a variety of bikes, some are fitted with the optional lower seat height which many learner riders feel is a great confidence booster when riding a "big 'bike" for the first time.

Direct Access Scheme

There are several advantages with DAS (Direct Access Scheme) training. First off you learn on a larger more powerful machine, similar to the ones many people will buy on passing their test. Once you have passed the test, you can ride any motorcycle you wish with no restrictions on power output or engine size. Whilst I would definitely not recommend buying a super bike as a first big bike the Direct Access Scheme does allow a much greater choice of machines and this can be useful if commuting, riding with a pillion passenger or touring by motorcycle is planned.

Direct Access Scheme Courses

Our Direct Access Scheme (DAS) training courses are put together to suit you, the individual, depending on the level of experience you already have and all courses can be done in a block of consecutive days or split up and spread over a longer period. Many people find that spreading the training over a longer period allows them to carry on with minimal disruption to their normal routine.

There is no substitute for experience and adequate preparation when it comes to passing the test and riding safely on the road. When selecting and booking a training course be realistic about your current level of riding ability. Remember if you fail the test because you weren't ready for it, it will work out to be more expensive in the long run.

We have a wide choice of bikes to use for the Direct Access Scheme courses. Most people using these bikes pass their test within 3 to 4 days and they help us maintain one of the highest pass rates in the industry.
